Turkic leaders expected to attend OTS summit, COP31 events

Heads of state of the Turkic world are expected to attend events to be held as part of the Organization of Turkic States, OTS, summit and COP31, Kursad Zorlu, deputy chairman of Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party, AKP, told Report"s Türkiye bureau.

According to him, many new decisions and important initiatives concerning the Turkic world will be jointly adopted and implemented within the framework of the summit.

"The fact that the summit coincides with October 29, Republic Day of the Republic of Türkiye, gives this event special historical and spiritual significance for the Turkish nation," Zorlu said.

The party official noted that, according to current planning, heads of state of OTS member countries will attend the summit.

"Immediately after that, on November 9, the COP31 Summit will be held. Many heads of state and government from around the world are also expected to attend that event. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is expected to participate in both summits," he stressed.

A ceremony was held today at the Ankara Development Agency to sign protocols on support for projects under the Technical Support Program for events to be organized on the occasion of Ankara being declared the 2026 Tourism Capital of the Turkic World.
