The Transport Ministry of Kazakhstan has published a preliminary report on the investigation into the aviation incident involving an Embraer-190 aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, Report informs, citing the ministry.
"The investigation commission continues to conduct a detailed examination of the aircraft structure damages. The initial inspection of the preserved fragments revealed multiple through and non-through damages of various sizes and shapes in the tail section of the fuselage, vertical stabilizer and horizontal stabilizer, elevator and rudder. Similar damages were found on the left engine and left wing of the aircraft, as well as on the aircraft units and components. In some places, the damages have a regular rectangular shape," the report states.
Experts noted that the through damages to the aircraft indicate the penetration of external objects into the aircraft structure.
The Investigation Commission, in the presence of authorized representatives of Brazil, Azerbaijan, and law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan, carried out actions to extract foreign objects that could have remained in non-through damages, for sending them for additional forensic examination. As a result, a large number of foreign objects were extracted from such damages.
