Tokayev inks decree in connection with Senate elections on January 14

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree “On the appointment of elections of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan for January 14, 2023” in connection with the expiration of the constitutional term of office of the Senate deputies in 2023, Report informs referring to the Akorda website.
The decree instructs the government, mayors of the cities of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, regions to take measures for organizational, logistical and financial support of the elections of deputies of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament.
In elections to the Senate, in accordance with the law, authorized electors, that is, deputies of the local representative body, cast their votes.
