Emomali Sobirzoda has been appointed as the new defense minister of Tajikistan following the relevant order signed by President Emomali Rahmon, Report informs via Tajik media.
Prior to this appointment, Sobirzoda served as the first deputy defense minister.
Additionally, Sherali Mirzo, who has led the Tajik Defense Ministry since 2013, has been appointed as the head of the Department for Protection of State Secrets under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In particular, Bobojon Saidzoda will now hold the position of first deputy defense minister and chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
