'Swine flu' kills eight in Georgia

Baku. 4 January. REPORT.AZ/ H1N1 virus ('swine flu') has killed eight people in Georgia.

Report's Georgian bureau informs that a young man diagnosed with flu virus in Ignorovka hospital of Tbilisi has died. That his death was caused by 'swine flu' has been confirmed laboratorially.

By the information from hospital, the 30-year-old man had been treated there for two days but it was impossible to save him because of the severity of his condition.

Another man has also been reported dead of H1N1 virus.

Georgian Health Minister David Sergeyenko said that despite the growing number of flu infection, there are no reasons for panic: "This is no epidemic, just the cases of inflection have grown in number."

Notably, Georgia has already posted eight deaths from H1N1 virus. Four lethal cases were recorded in Adjara. Nearly 130 people including children are being treated for flu virus at the hospital of the autonomous republic.
