Conflict potential is growing in a number of regions of the world, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at the opening ceremony of the Moscow Conference on International Security.
"The main trend of the current moment is the accumulation of the conflict potential in various regions of the world. Frozen conflicts are activated. New hotbeds of potential armed confrontation are being formed, many of which are initiated from the outside”, Russian defense minister said.
Shoigu also noted the continuation of conflicts in the Middle East.
"Fights in Yemen are ongoing. The conflict in Libya enters a new phase. Tensions remain in Syria and Iraq."
"The activity of terrorist groups is growing in Africa," the minister said.
