The parliament speakers of Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan intend to continue intensive contacts and cooperation, the Speaker of Turkiye's Grand National Assembly (Parliament), Mustafa Sentop, said, opening the second tripartite meeting of the speakers of the three parliaments in Istanbul.
The meeting included speakers of the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Pakistan - Sahiba Gafarova and Asad Qaiser.
"Our unity will give us greater resilience, including countering violence and terrorism. I am sure that our countries will be more determined to resist discrimination and Islamophobia," Sentop said.
According to him, relations between Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan are special. "Our dialogue is at a level that only a few peoples and countries can achieve. It is based on ties of brotherhood, common history, culture, and religion," the speaker of the Turkish parliament said.
Sentop called Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan "the three leading democracies of the Islamic world."
