Ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili refused to get tested for the investigation into his poisoning because he does not trust the laboratory, Saakashvili’s lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze said, Report informs via Sputnik-Armenia.
The Special Investigation Service, as part of the investigation into the case of possible poisoning, has already tried several times to take samples of hair, blood and nails from the ex-president.
“We do not trust either the investigation or the expert institution for two reasons. Firstly, they do not have the appropriate permits to conduct this examination. Secondly, the expert bureau itself causes distrust, because Saakashvili is poisoned in the state institution, and the expert bureau, subordinate to the same state system, will be biased and draw a false conclusion,” Khachapuridze said.
At the same time, the layer stressed that they offered their alternative to the investigation.
“We offered to bring specialists from one of the authoritative expert bureaus of European states, as well as the United States, take samples, seal them in front of me, invite our specialists to take samples and send them abroad,” he added.
