Bulgarian Ambassador Atanas Kristin was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he received a strong protest over the expulsion of priests of the Russian Orthodox Church from Sofia, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, Report informs via Russian media.
“Another provocative act by the Bulgarian authorities, which fully fits into the current Euro-Atlantic guidelines for the ‘fight against Russian influence,’ will inevitably result in unpleasant consequences, primarily for its initiators,” the ministry noted.
Earlier it was reported that the Bulgarian authorities decided to expel the rector of the Russian Orthodox Church in Sofia, Archimandrite Vassian, from the country.
