The Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization is not an easy process, but there is no alternative to peace, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, according to Report's Russian bureau.
Related issues were discussed, in particular, yesterday at a trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in Moscow, she said.
"We expect that the above-mentioned contacts will take place in the coming months," she said.
Zakharova noted that the process of reconciliation between Azerbaijan and Armenia should also cover the humanitarian sphere. "As was noted in the tripartite statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia dated October 31, 22, it is important to create a positive atmosphere for continuing the dialogue between public representatives, expert communities, religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia with Russian assistance, as well as for launching trilateral inter-parliamentary contacts in order to build confidence between the peoples of the two countries," she said.
