Russian container ship sinks in Black Sea after Ukrainian attack, Rosatom says

The FESCO-owned container ship Yanina sank in the Black Sea after a Ukrainian attack overnight into August 1, Report informs, citing Russian media.

Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev said the incident occurred 130 nautical miles from Novorossiysk.

According to him, the vessel was an ordinary container ship sailing in international waters and carrying civilian goods, from frozen products to construction materials. He said it was attacked by two naval drones.

All 17 crew members survived. Most were picked up by the vessel Delphinus, which headed to the area overnight.
