As part of the efforts to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have sent a team of specialists to Armenia to assist in the anti-epidemiological activities, according to Armenian media.

The squad equipped with portable laboratories and decontamination devices arrived in Yerevan on Tuesday night, the Defense Ministry's spokeswoman, Shushan Stepanyan, said on Facebook.

They are in Armenia as part of an earlier agreement reached between the two countries' ministers of defense.

The available systems will help arrange testings in the Armed Forces of Armenia and the 102nd Russian Military Base in Gyumri.
