Russia's COVID-19 tally tops 900 thousand

Russia reported 5, 102 new COVID-19 cases in a day bringing the country's official number to 902 701, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

According to the Operational Headquarters, Russia's death toll reached 15, 260 thousand, as 129 others have died over the past day.

As many as 710, 298 coronavirus patients were discharged from Russian hospitals since the beginning of the pandemic.

Today, Moscow saw the highest number of infection- 689 positive coronavirus cases.

Moscow lifted restrictions including compulsory travel passes on June 8, a move welcomed by residents who rushed out to enjoy the streets and parks. Many other regions lifted lockdown restrictions ahead of a July 1 national vote despite the pandemic. 

However, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, has extended Russia's ban on international flights until Aug. 1 due to the coronavirus.
