Russia's coronavirus tally surpasses 21 thousand

Russia has confirmed 2,774 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing a death toll to 22.

According to the country's Operations Headquarters, thus, Russia's tally has reached 21,102, with 170 deaths, and 1,694 recoveries.

Most of the new cases of infection were recorded in Moscow - 1,489.

Notably, Russia reported the first case of coronavirus on January 31.

The coronavirus infection emerged in late December in the Chinese city of Wuhan, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.

So far, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the world has exceeded 1,926,000., resulting in more than 452 614 recoveries and over 119 732 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
