Russia's coronavirus death toll exceeds 3.6K

Russia confirmed 8,946 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number to 353,427, Report informs, citing the Operational Headquarters.

The number of people who died from coronavirus increased by 92 people to 3,633, while 118,798 have recovered from the virus.

The majority of Russia's new cases are in Moscow – 2,560.

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in China's Wuhan, and the causative agent is a new type of coronavirus officially named COVID-19.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of a new coronavirus a pandemic.
