Russia plans to resume international air travel on July 15 as it eyes a gradual return to normal life amid the coronavirus pandemic, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

"Russia will begin reopening its borders to foreign nationals, starting with foreigners who need to come to Russia for medical treatment or to take care of their relatives," Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

The country has 476,658 COVID-19 cases of coronavirus infection so far, more than 230,000 people have recovered, while 5,971 died. According to experts, the peak of morbidity has passed, and Russia is gradually canceling previously imposed restrictions.

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in China's Wuhan, and the causative agent is a new type of coronavirus officially named COVID-19.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of a new coronavirus a pandemic.
