Russia records almost 5,000 COVID cases per day

Over the past day, medical experts recorded 4,956 new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia, Report informs referring to Russian media.

The total number of registered cases in the country has reached 18,260,293 since the pandemic onset.

To date, a total of 377,670 people died due to COVID-related health complications in Russia, including 99 deaths seen over the past day. The number of recoveries is 17,647,179.

More than 521 million people globally have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic. The deadly pathogen has claimed over 6.28 million lives, though unable to cope with 475.4 million patients, who managed to recover.
