Russia: 150 die of COVID-19 per day

Russia confirmed  5 529  new coronavirus infections, bringing the country’s official number of cases to  1 073 849, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

Over the past day, 150 more fell victim to the virus. So far, 18 785 people have died of COVID-19, while  884 305 recovered.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
