Rosatom, Armenia mull prospects for new nuclear power units

Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom and Armenia have discussed prospects for constructing new nuclear power units in the country, Report informs, citing Russian media.

The topic was addressed during a meeting in Yerevan between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev.

Rosatom is offering Armenia proven nuclear technologies across various capacity ranges, including large, medium, and small-power units.

Additionally, during the talks, Likhachev informed the Armenian prime minister about the completion of the first phase of work aimed at extending the operational life of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant through 2036.
