In an interview with Pavel Zarubin, host of the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin," Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his belief that Russia and the United States may have many points of contact with the new US administration, particularly in the energy sector.
According to Report, Putin highlighted the fact that both Russia and the US are among the world's largest oil producers and consumers.
He stated, "Overall, we certainly can have many points of contact with the current administration, searching for solutions on key issues of today. These include issues of strategic stability and economic matters, by the way."
He noted that excessively high prices are detrimental to domestic production that relies on energy resources, while overly low prices undermine the investment capabilities of energy companies.
Putin also suggested that there are other energy-related issues that could be of mutual interest to Russia and the United States.
