Preparations for the meeting of the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Russia, Iran, and Syria are underway, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at the joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Report informs.
The minister said there was a meeting between the defense ministers and intelligence chiefs of Türkiye, Russia, and Syria a few months ago: "Iran also wants to participate in this format. We do not approach it negatively because the goal is known. Therefore, whoever wants to contribute to this format can join. We have also informed Russia about this."
M. Cavushoglu noted that preparations for the meeting of FMs of the four countries are underway: "Next week, technical issues will be discussed in Moscow."
