Pentagon: Russia fails to make progress in Kharkiv

Russia's occupying forces have not given up their aspirations to control the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said, Report informs via UNIAN.

According to him, in recent days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to drive the invaders far from the center of the Kharkiv Oblast.

"Ukrainians can still keep hold of Kharkiv. They have never given up on the city. The Russians have not been able to make any progress there.

We think that Russia wants to occupy Kharkiv. Because they do not leave Kharkiv alone. … It turns out that Russia has a plan for Kharkiv."

White House spokesperson Jen Psaki also spoke about the failure of Russia's plans. According to her, the Kremlin planned to occupy a significant part of Ukraine, including the country's north.
