Pashinyan's deputy internationally wanted

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan was declared internationally wanted, Report informs, citing Oragir.news.

Thus, Matevosyan is charged under Part 1 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (evasion of compulsory military or alternative service, training musters, or mobilizations).

Armenian police searched for Matevosyan in 2011. The search was stopped in 2012, but it is still unknown why the criminal case was terminated.

The Armenian government told the website that "the response to the inquiry on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan did not apply to the Law on Freedom of Information."

"In fact, just as the current Defense Minister, Suren Papikyan, who was convicted of stabbing an officer in the army, did not clarify the crime, Matevosyan did not take the opportunity to explain the episode of his biography. It should be noted that Ambartsum Matevosyan did not serve in the Armed Forces," said the website.

Matevosyan was appointed Deputy Prime Minister on November 25 last year. The official previously worked as the head of the province.
