Multiple Armenian officials arrested

Artak Arutyunyan, who serves as the deputy head of the Artik district’s community of Armenia was arrested, Report informs, citing the Armenian Hraparak publication.

This follows the recent arrests of Khachatur Khndzrtsyan, the head of urban development department for Shirak’s regional administration, and Mkrtich Asatryan, a departmental expert.

Arutyunyan’s arrest is part of the same legal proceedings, resulting in a two-month detention ordered by the court.

Previously, in 2021, Arutyunyan was a candidate for the Artik community headship under the Liberal Party led by Samvel Babayan and subsequently became the deputy head post-election.
