Minister Khudatyan: Metsamor NPP offline for 5 months under extension program

Armenia's Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has been taken offline for five months as part of a program agreed with Rosatom to extend its operational life, Report informs via local media.
The country's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, David Khudatyan, said at a government meeting that the shutdown began on April 1.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia could achieve energy self-sufficiency through solar power, potentially eliminating the need to import electricity.
