Lavrov to attend security conference in Minsk

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit the Belarusian capital on October 26, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexey Zaitsev told a briefing, according to Report.

He said Minsk will host an international high-level conference "Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World" next week. The event will be held within the framework of Belarus' chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Zaitsev noted that Lavrov plans to make a speech at the plenary session of the forum. The minister is expected to present Russian assessments of the current security situation in Eurasia to his foreign colleagues.
