Lavrov: No relations between Russia and NATO

Relations between Russia and NATO cannot be called catastrophic, because they simply do not exist, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

“I wouldn’t call the relations between Russia and NATO catastrophic, because something has to exist to be catastrophic. We have no relations with NATO,” the minister said at a press conference following talks with Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt.

At the same time, commenting on the bad relations between NATO and Moscow, Lavrov called Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg his friend.

“NATO isn’t a friend of Russia, they decided not to be friendly (to Russia). They called Russia and China a threat to NATO. My good friend Jens Stoltenberg, who was a great prime minister of Norway, now says that NATO should be responsible for security of the whole world,” Lavrov said following talks with his Norwegian counterpart.
