Moscow and Bishkek have adopted a protocol with amendments to the agreement on the Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan.
Report informs citing RIA Novosti that the signing ceremony was held as part of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to the republic.
Changes are also related to rent and some organizational issues. The agreement was signed in 2012 and it required some clarifications. The parties also agreed to strengthen cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres.
Notably, by the published draft protocol, the parties agreed on a $291,000 increase in the annual rental fee for the area covered by the military base (from $4.5 mln to 4.79 mln).
Notably, the Russian air base Kant started operating in Kyrgyzstan in October 2003.
