Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze sharply criticized the opposition following a physical altercation in parliament.
According to Report's Georgian bureau, the prime minister, speaking to journalists at parliament, described the incident in the chamber as regrettable.
"What we saw in the chamber is truly regrettable. The agents have once again shown their true face. When they had nothing left to say, they first resorted to insults and then to physical violence," Kobakhidze said.
According to the prime minister, the incident reflects the opposition's political conduct.
"This is their disgraceful face. It is difficult to expect different behavior from people who lack education, intellect, sincerity, and patriotism. What we witnessed today was a display by people who have lost their dignity," he said.
Kobakhidze also referred to the opposition as "agents" and compared its activities to those of the Georgian Bolsheviks a century ago.
"The common feature shared by the Bolsheviks of a century ago and today's agents is that they are agents. Once you become part of an agent network, it is impossible to behave with dignity. My advice to young people is never to become part of such an agent network," the prime minister added.
Earlier on Friday, a fight broke out during the final plenary session of the Georgian parliament's spring sitting between lawmakers from the ruling Georgian Dream party and members of the For Georgia faction.
