Turkish police have detained an ISIS militant, who was one of the key figures in the terrorist group and had close ties with its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, eliminated two years ago,
The operation was carried out jointly by the Turkish police and members of the Turkish national intelligence organization in Istanbul's Atasehir district. The militant, who had been under surveillance for a long time, was detained immediately after leaving the apartment where he lived. The police searched the flat and seized mobile phones, digital materials, and photographs of the militant with a raised sword.
The terrorist entered Turkey with forged documents three years ago, and all this time was in the red notices of Interpol. He was responsible for the military infrastructure of the ISIL and was involved in many terrorist attacks in Syria since 2014, and also trained the group’s militants.
