Javad Zarif: E3 sold out remnants of JCPOA to avoid new Trump tariffs

UK, France, and Germany "sold the remnants" of the Iranian nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Action Plan) in exchange for the promise of US President Donald Trump not to impose duties on European cars, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said.

Report says, citing TASS, that, according to Zarif, E3 sold out remnants of JCPOA to avoid new Trump tariffs.

"It won't work, my friends. You only whet his appetite. Remember your high school bully? If you want to sell your integrity, go ahead. But DO NOT assume high moral/legal ground," Javad Zarif tweeted.

The Washington Post said that Trump had threatened Paris, London, and Berlin to impose 25% duties on European cars if they did not accuse Iran of violating the JCPOA. The warning came a week before the countries launched a dispute resolution mechanism for a nuclear deal on January 14.
