Japanese gov't freezes bank accounts of Russian oligarchs

The Government of Japan has decided to freeze the accounts of Russian oligarchs in the Japanese banks, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on March 3, Report informs via TASS.

"Today, we have decided to freeze the bank accounts of Russian' dzaybasu' ('money clan' - TASS) oligarchs," Kishida said.

The prime minister added that financial sanctions from Japan, the European Union and the United States, as well as the removal of Russian banks from the international interbank payment system SWIFT, are a serious step.

"This is Russia's isolation from the international payment system and the world economy," he said.

On March 1, Japan imposed sanctions on 49 Russian companies and organizations, including Rosoboronexport, Rostex, the Federal Security Service, Irkut and Progress.
