Iranian MFA: Zarif paid one of his most important visits to South Caucasus

"This visit was one of the most important and successful regional visits during Mohammad Javad Zarif's tenure as foreign minister," Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said.

Report states, citing Mehr News Agency, that, according to Khatibzadeh, Zarif's visit to Turkey, the South Caucasus, and Russia was successful.

"During the visit, the Iranian Foreign Minister discussed regional cooperation, sustainable stability, economic issues, implementation of cooperation in the 3 + 3 format, and other issues," he said.

As for Zarif's visit to Turkey, the spokesman said: "Tehran-Ankara relations are excellent. The visit of the Foreign Minister was also very productive. Issues related to the Caucasus were raised at the meetings in Turkey."
