Iran sandstorm: more than 140 people injured

Baku. 8 October. REPORT.AZ/ More than 140 people were affected by a sandstorm in southeastern Iran, IRNA reported with reference to the head of the Abdul Rahman Shahnavazi, the provincial director general of disaster management said.

Report informs citing RIA Novosti that since October 6, 145 residents of the province of Sistan and Baluchistan sought medical help because of problems with breathing, eyes and heart. Of them 27 were hospitalized.

According to Shahnavazi, the wind speed reached 104 km/h. Authorities urge sick and elderly residents of certain parts of the province to stay at home.
