Iran's COVID death toll exceeds 78,500

Over the past day, 216 people died in Iran due to COVID-related health complications, bringing the country’s death toll to 78,597, Report informs, citing the Iranian Health Ministry.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic recorded 8,631 new cases of infection.
To date, 2,832,518 people have contracted the novel coronavirus in Iran.
As of May 23, 4,855 COVID patients are in critical condition in Iran.
As many as 2,333,789 Iranians have already recovered from the disease.
