Iran refuses to give black boxes from downed plane to Ukraine

The Iranian authorities decided not to send the flight recorders of a passenger plane shot down by mistake in January to Ukraine, Report says, citing TASS.

According to ISNA Agency, the reason is the delay in responding to the Ukrainian side's response to Iran's proposals. The Agency specifies that Iran will send the black boxes to another country, probably France.

On March 12, the official representative of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, Reza Jafarzadeh, said that the flight recorders would be decoded in Ukraine or France.

Two Iranian missiles hit Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 shortly after taking off from Tehran airport on January 8, 2020. All 176 people on board died, including 55 Canadian citizens and 30 permanent residents. Dozens of more passengers on the flight were also bound for Canada, many of them were students and academics returning from a winter break.
