Iran admits shooting down Ukrainian airliner unintentionally

Iran authorities admitted that it had accidentally shot down a Ukrainian jetliner near Tehran, Report informs citing the Associated Press.
A military statement came on Saturday morning via state TV, with “human error” blamed for the downing of Ukraine International Airlines flight 752.
The Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, wrote on Saturday: “The Islamic Republic of Iran deeply regrets this disastrous mistake. “My thoughts and prayers go to all the mourning families. I offer my sincerest condolences.”
