A representative of a pro-Western civil initiative for Armenia's EU accession and former Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan stated there was no intention to leave the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Report informs.
"This bill is aimed at starting integration with the EU, it is not against the EAEU. There are no objectives here about leaving the EAEU or breaking ties with the EAEU. We are trying to find new markets," Zeynalyan noted, speaking about the bill on intentions to join the EU.
The Armenian Parliament today began discussions on adopting the bill to start the EU accession process.
Earlier in January, the Armenian government approved this bill. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that this would not mean automatic accession of Yerevan to the organization, as this matter requires a referendum.
