"We contribute to peace in Azerbaijan, Libya, Qatar, and other geographies," Turkey's National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said, speaking at the welcoming ceremony for the crew members that conducted evacuation from Afghanistan, Report informs, citing Anadolu.
"We respect the sovereignty, rights and law, and borders of our neighbors when performing these works. Our only goal is the security of our nation, our country, and we are working to this end. As part of bilateral relations with NATO, UN, EU, OSCE missions, Turkey contributes to global and regional peace in Azerbaijan, Libya, Qatar, Somali, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and other geographies and supports the just causes of their friendly and fraternal states," he said.
Hulusi Akar thanked all parties that assisted the evacuation process.
"I express my gratitude to local personnel for support to the Turkish armed forces during the evacuation process, our NATO allies, led by US, Great Britain, Germany, for allocating an airplane and providing other necessary support, and to Pakistan and Tajikistan for their sincere cooperation. I am especially thankful to the soldiers of our heroic brother Azerbaijan who served together with us in Kabul and to our other ministries, including the Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Internal Affairs, for cooperation in the evacuation process," he said.
