Georgia's ruling party urges supporters to vote in second round of local polls

The mass election rally of the ruling Georgian Dream party has ended in Tbilisi’s Freedom Square, the local bureau of Report says, adding that the rally lasted for an hour and was addressed by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, chairman of the Georgian Dream party Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava, and other officials.

The speakers called on their supporters to vote in the second round of the local elections on October 30 and help the ruling party to complete the victory of the Georgian Dream party.

Garibashvili said that the Georgian Dream party is the government that has maintained peace and stability longer in the history of Georgia's independence.

He noted that Georgia should not repeat the mistakes of the past: "Today, people need peace, tranquility and progress, not tension, instability, boycott and revenge. I am confident that we will be able to solve all the problems through joint efforts. I am confident that the coming years will be a period of recovery, stability and development for Georgia."
