Georgian President: Russia benefits from protests in Georgia

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili believes only Russia benefits from protests outside the parliament building in Tbilisi. In her opinion, the Russian authorities are interested in providing an internal confrontation in Georgia, Report informs citing RBC

"Russia is our enemy and occupier. The fifth column it manages may be more dangerous than open aggression. I would like to say once again that only Russia benefits from the split of the country and society and the internal confrontation, and today it is the most powerful weapon,” Salome Zourabichvili wrote on Facebook.

Zourabichvili believes that Russian politics is supported by those who encourage Georgia’s internal opposition. She also condemned the words of former President Mikheil Saakashvili, who called on the police to join the protesters.
