Georgian parliament supports moving legislative body to Tbilisi

Tbilisi. 6 December. REPORT.AZ/ Georgian parliament adopted a regulation on moving the legislative body from Kutais to Tbilisi in the third reading.

Georgian Bureau of Report News Agency informs that at today's meeting, 77 voted in favor of the new regulation and two MPs voted against.

According to the new regulation, the Georgian parliament will be located in the capital, Tbilisi.

The parliamentary session will be possible only if the building of legislative body in Tbilisi does not work for any reason.

A regional police hub is planned to be set up in the building of parliament in Kutaisi.

Notably, the parliament of the neighboring country has been functioning in Kutaisi since October 2012. Since 2014 only parliamentary committee sessions have been held in a building in Tbilisi.
