Georgia's ruling Georgian Dream party will put forward Kakha Kaladze as a candidate for the post of Tbilisi mayor, the party's public relations secretary Shalva Papuashvili said Monday.
He denied rumors that former parliamentary speaker Archil Talakvadze will be put forward as a candidate for mayor: “We have our candidate – Kakha Kaladze. He will decide whether he wants to participate in the elections or now. But we want him to be the candidate.”
Kaladze has been the mayor of Tbilisi since 2017.
