Georgia will summon its Ambassador to Ukraine back, but that does not mean it will call the diplomatic relations or strategic partnership into question, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia told Report.

According to him, due to irresponsible politicians, Georgia will not cast doubt on its partnership with Ukraine.

"Georgia and Ukraine are not only strategic partners, but also the two nations enjoy long-standing friendship. We will recall our ambassador only to consult on how to protect our relations with Ukraine from adventurers," said the Prime Minister.

On May 8, Georgia recalled the Ambassador from Kyiv for consultations following the appointment of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili as head of the Executive Committee of Ukraine's National Reforms Council.

President Volodymyr Zelensky, on Thursday, appointed former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili head of the executive committee of Ukraine's National Reform Council after an earlier plan to make him deputy premier ran into political opposition.

"I believe that he will be able to give an impetus to the National Reform Council and help make important changes in the life of the country." - Zelensky said in a statement after appointing Saakashvili.
