Georgia to buy new military equipment

Georgia plans to purchase several hundred new military equipment under NATO standards this year, Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated on Rustavi 2 TV channel, Report says.
The Defense Forces have significantly contributed to the prevention of the spread of coronavirus, and during the process, some technical problems emerged, the minister stressed.
“One of the tasks is to replace the obsolete military hardware with the new ones. We are going to acquire new vehicles and equipment in accordance with NATO and European standards. The army will be able to perform its duties more properly with the modern equipment,” Garibashvili said.
