COVID-19 is a new strain of coronavirus and cases are spreading around Georgia since the virus reached US in February.
Unprecedented measures have been taken to slow, or “flatten the curve” of the virus. Earlier, Georgia closed its border with several countries, including Azerbaijan. At present, the government conducts some provisions within the country to prevent the local spread of the infection.
Starting tomorrow, Georgia will suspend the transportation of passengers by minibus in the regions and between cities, including Tbilisi.
Report says the government of Georgia has made a decision.
Prime Minister Georgi Gakharia informed the regional governors of the decision. He urged governors to effectively implement decisions and recommendations made to combat coronavirus.
New rules will come into force for passenger buses in Tbilisi starting tomorrow. The driver's cab will be completely isolated and passengers can only use rear doors. Besides, bus conductors will not work temporally.
