Georgia sees increase in food prices

Tbilisi. 3 January. REPORT.AZ/ Georgia posted a 0.5% increase in inflation rate, as stated in the report of the country's National Statistics Office.
Georgian bureau of Report informs citing the office that the annual inflation made 1.5%.
In December, the country saw the prices up by 2.3% for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 5.9% up for bread and oats. The prices also rose by 5.6% for vegetables, 2.8% for milk, cheese and eggs, 2.4% for fish, 1.7% for fruits and grapes and dropped by 1.6% for oil and fat and by 1.0% for coffee, tea and cocoa.
As for annual inflation, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages saw a 1.7% increase, while utilities gained 3.1% in price, health care costs rose by 2.9%, and transportation costs grew by 1.7%.
