Georgia has reported 1,419 omicron cases, Report's local bureau informs, citing the country's National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health.
Omicron is currently responsible for 70% of all coronavirus cases in the country and 80% in Tbilisi.
The peak of infection with the new strain in Georgia is expected in late January-early February.
The first fact of infection with omicron was documented on December 20.
