Georgia posts increase in food prices

Tbilisi. 3 September. REPORT.AZ/ Inflation rate in Georgia totalled 0.5% last month.
Report's local bureau informs that the due information was provided by Georgia's National Statistics Office.
The annual inflation rate in the country made 3.1%.
In August, the prices on foodstuffs and alcohol-free drinks rose by 1.5%, vegetables by 16.4%, dairy products by 4.8%. Meanwhile, a drop was recorded in prices on fruits (-16.2%). The decrease was also observed in prices on clothing (-1.1%) and footwear (-1.3%).
As to the annual inflation, compared to the last year, transportation costs rose by 7.8%, food and alcohol-free drinks by 3.2%, alcohol beverages and tobacco wares by 4.7%, healthcare costs by 5.2% and utilities by 3.4%.
