Former Georgian Defense Minister Davit Kezerashvili, the founder of Formula TV, has been sentenced to five years in prison.

According to Reports local bureau, the decision was made by the country's Supreme Court.

The former minister was accused of embezzling 5,060,000 euros in a project related to the Ministry of Defense. In 2017, the Court of Appeal acquitted Kezerashvili. The trial resumed a few days ago.

Kezerashvili served as Georgia's defense minister in 2006-2008.
